Music plays a large role in both how I emotionally respond to situations around me, and listening to music while creating has become a good quarter of my artistic process. This painting is a reference to My Chemical Romance's album cover for Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, with the animals present representing the Calico Critters toys that I grew up with. I was inspired to create this by the artist @emocritters on Instagram. Their artwork is them making custom toys surrounding popular music artists, MCR included, and I wanted to reference their interesting mediums in my work.
