In my work and in my growth as an artist, I often paint what I find challenging, whether that be hair textures or capturing the likeness of someone's face, and having it actually look like them in the end product. In this painting, I wanted my close connection with people whom I knew to be evident, so I not only painted my friend Joshua, but by how I know him, and a big part of his art is his clown art. For this painting versus in comparison to 'What's On The Radio?', I focused more on Joshua's hair texture and the realism of his makeup in the original reference.
